So frustrated with skin makeup shade matching - suggestions?

I've had this problem for a really long time as well. Just a note, this is my first post/response on reddit. I'm by no means a professional MUA, but I'd like to think I have a bit of experience with the beauty struggle. Back to the OP: I've been reading a lot of Asian beauty blogs and one thing I really took notice of is that often one product is expected to work for the entire face/area. I'm guessing that you have somewhat sensitive skin, so you're trying to be careful with preventing more breakouts and get even coverage (medium-full?). Sometimes a different formula/brand will work better. I don't want to suggest colors because I'm not sure what colors will adjust and work best for you, but a few things that I definitely think can help you out are: * getting color matched at Sephora, Ulta or another beauty counter * I use MUFE HD Invisible Cover Foundation and have had great success with the coloring * I know some people who have adult acne and have found great success with Clinique and Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay in Place * I know the cycle of buying and returning products all too well. Maybe try some of the more common drugstore brands out at Ulta before buying? L'Oreal Magic Nude Liquid Powder and True Match worked for me. * And on that note of the return cycle, maybe get a sample from the counters/Sephora and try the product out for a few days before taking the plunge. *Also try mixing some foundations, whether on your hand or on a palette before hand, to get a better color match. When the seasons change, I'm definitely darker during the summer and using this technique helps me acquire a more natural look.

I don't like to wear a full face of makeup either, but I've never really had much luck concealing and blending to make it look like I had an even face. I usually end up putting on a full face, but really lightly so it doesn't take a lot of time/makeup/effort and it still looks natural.

Sorry for the long post! I wish you luck with your search, I hope this helps a little! xx
