Frustration Friday Thread - Week of October 18, 2019

Applied for Barclays AA Biz, got pending and I decided to call recon right away because I was feeling reckless and could use the card ASAP. CSR sounds like she is going to be a tough one and asks if I have time to do the verification now. I was up for the challenge so she goes down the line of usual questions on my "business" of buying and selling used goods 1 year, $1k in revenue and other employment which were all fair. She wanted to see three or more years of experience in business meaning my overall employment which I have so that was no problem. Checked my credit and "commended" me on my good record, but asked why I opened four credit cards in the last six months so I said I had a lot of travel requirements and I use all of the cards for different reasons. Finally she approves me for a low credit limit. Has to pass me to her colleague for verification. Literally sounded like she handed the phone over to the guy. This guy is monotone and sounds like he could care less about anything. Turns out they need me to mail in copies of three forms of ID: drivers license, social security card and utility bill showing business address. I asked if my conditional approval is valid after I submit documents and he says he can't say. Asked if it is an issue that I recently moved so my address is different on drivers license (which is true) and he says it could require further verification. I say what other ID can I provide? He says non-driving state ID. Since this will all be by snail mail I want to move this process along so I HUCA later in the day and get the same CSR as the first time.... ask about what other ID I can submit and get passed to the same guy again. Asked if can I submit a copy of my passport instead of a drivers license. He said yes you can. Is it worth trying to
