Fuck you - colonization wasn’t my fault

I had to take an international credit in college and Japanese Food studies was the only one that fit my schedule. It was nice because the prof cooked us food and I learned a lot about Japanese food culture, but we had writing assignments where we had to compare Japanese culture to our own culture quite a bit. And American didn’t count. I actually found it kind of annoying because I don’t really know my ancestry. Turns out, mostly German, Irish, and English. But I had to do all my reports on German food culture that I hardly know, as I believe my family has been here for quite a while and we don’t do any cultural things besides my grandma listened to polka. Unfortunately I can’t ask grandparents anymore either. I definitely felt that no culture thing when I took that class
