I am at such a loss over how everything is gushing over him since his death.

How is he a "hero" for being good at playing with a ball? His wife has said that he cheated on her over 100 times and there is video of a woman leaving his hotel room with bloody panties and blood on his shirt. And yeah he was never convicted because she settled with him out of court for a buttload of money.

And then yeah that also sounds suspicious until you realize that his lawyers made her life an absolute nightmare. She was on the front page of every tabloid her friends and family were on the news her entire life was being published for everyone to pick apart. Of course she wanted that to end.
