Fuckin' Frank, man... the breadth of the man's knowledge, insight & perspective is inspiring and not-a-little intimidating with a poignance & relevance that, not unlike Dune, will span the Ages of Man.

Odd, isn't it? The, I hesitate to use the word "hypocrisy" but, balance between the quote of an individual as an individual, free-thinking human being and the notions or ideals that same person puts forth in the voice of an avatar may differ so greatly...

We are all of us hypocritical in nature. That is the most base and true nature of "intelligent" life and until we can all learn to accept, embrace and live with this one truth we will never so much as glimpse that next step, which is so fundamental to the social & cultural evolution of humanity, let alone take it.

There is no "Golden Path". There are however a multitude of paths which I believe must be navigated not by the "powerful" (politically, economically, religious, etc.) but by the New Enlightened. Those of us inured to the ways of modern politics & economics and, not-unlike Leto II himself, ready & willing to sacrifice not only ourselves but subsequent generations to hardships the likes of which humanity has never known in the hopes of someday achieving a renaissance of sorts from which a New Humanity will be birthed.

This is our destiny as a species and all the bitching & moaning we're doing now amounts to nothing more than the birth pangs of that far-flung world.
