Having said that, what's the leftist case for "fat shaming" being negative? Obesity is bad for you, and it's bad for society. So it's bad for everyone involved. Promoting healthy behavior isn't always enough, you need to have a stick as a backup to the carrot. If being fat was considered low status and shameful and perhaps even egotistical, maybe more people would be motivated to change?

Obsessively respecting people's individuality, even when their individual choices clearly harm themselves and those around them, seems like a (liberal) right wing thing to me. I wanna know why I'm wrong.
