I fucking love Metalcore.

I'm not the person you're responding to but since I'm his friend and you're curious about the following question I'll answer this part alone:

Also, out of curiosity, would you say that Wolfbrigade or Martyrdöd are metal bands? Is d-beat/råpunk part of hardcore in your eyes, or is it something different? Just trying to get a sense of how you're classifying things.

Bands like Wolfbrigade and Martyrdöd are traditional-neocrust (as in the Tragedy/From Ashes Rise-style, not the Fall of Efrafa/post-metal kind). The genre is essentially a melodic extension of crustcore, which itself a metallic extension of d-beat. In my eyes, a lot of crustcore bands are hardcore punk-leaning (Discharge/d-beat-inspired) while still exerting a considerable metal influence (mainly Celtic Frost and Motörhead) which is where the crust came from. Wolfbrigade and Martyrdöd are like that except they're more melodic. Personally, I don't really consider those bands as metal as their sound is mainly derived from Discharge, though I wouldn't discredit their metal influences.

D-beat is a form of hardcore punk, pioneered by Discharge. Hardcore itself is a form of faster and aggressive punk rock, which is what d-beat is. Same goes for råpunk being hardcore I would say since the term means "raw punk" and I've seen the term applied on noisy d-beat/crustcore bands.
