It's fucking November

I'm nine months into this.

I started seeing news reports in February. Friend lives in Pisa. I was watching italian news as this killed hundreds everyday in Bergamo. I watched the news reports as military trucks carried the dead away in the night because Bergamo did not have enough crematorium capacity for all the dead.

I assumed the president would let the experts handle things and this would be like ebola. Never in a million years did I think he would actively undermine those tasked with protecting us. What a blistering jackass he is.

I forgot that Americans think the rest of the world is stupid and irrelevant. I mentioned to friends that Uganda, Taiwan, South Korea and Vietnam all have this under control using making as the first line of defense. Those friends told me I was afraid of a virus. Now I don't want to be around them. Their behavior is too risky.

You can always count on Americans to do the right thing after everything else they've tried has failed. Apparently we're not quite there yet.
