[Full Spoilers] Post Episode Discussion - S02E22 -"Nevertheless, She Persisted"

I really didn't like it. They're going with the New 52 interpretation of Supergirl's which seriously cheapens the character.

For those who don't know, prior to New 52, Supergirl was trained by Wonder Woman and other Amazon champions on Themyscira. Reason being unlike Superman who learned to harness and hone his powers over his whole life. While Supergirl got them in her late teens. For the same reason she's weaker by raw power because she hasn't and anywhere near the amount of time to metabolize Earth's solar radiation like her cousin.

The only people who could realistically train a god was the Amazons. Later she was tutored by Batman in a host of martial arts and other skills. Realistically only Wonder Woman could best Superman in combat and Batman by wit. Supergirl is combination of both.

What drives me crazy is the show's Superman's costume is from DC Rebirth, and Supergirl's backstory largely restored by DC Rebirth.

Then there's the message the episode sends. Because apparently, the only way for girls to defeat thier foes is being physically stronger. Instead of being smarter, faster, and more skilled because that's just stupid.
