  • Wikileaks releases Collateral Murder, a classified US Military video depicting indiscriminate slaying of over a dozen people in New Baghdad, including two Reuters news staff. Bradley Manning aka Chelsea Manning, an American soldier and patriot, is eventually charged and detained for the leak.

JUL

  • Wikileaks releases classified US military documents on the Afghan war, revealing details of civilian victims and links between Pakistan/Taliban.

JUL 29

  • Wikileaks adds an "insurance" file to the Afghan war diaries page.

AUG 10

  • US media reports that the US government is encouraging its allies to open criminal investigations against Assange for the Afghan war leaks, to prevent his freedom of movement. link

AUG 12

  • Assange travels to Sweden, talks about military involvement in Afghan war. Supposedly has sex with two Swedish women while there. These women are also supposedly ex-employees of Wikileaks.

AUG 20

  • Two Swedish women compel police to have Assange take an STD test.

AUG 21

  • Chief Prosecutor of Stockholm, Eva Finn, drops rape allegation, states no crime committed. link

AUG 25

  • Chief Prosecutor Eva Finn closes the rape case, stating no suspicion of any crime whatsoever.

AUG 30

  • Assange attends police interview and answers all questions asked.

SEP 15

  • Assange cleared to leave Sweden.

OCT

  • Wikileaks releases 400,000 accounts written by American soldiers from 2004 to 2009 revealing US decided to ignore cases of torture by Iraqi authorities on civilians.

  • Swedish prosecutor re-issues European arrest warrant for Assange.

  • Assange turns himself in to London police.

  • Assange released on bail, tells media the rape allegations are a politically motivated campaign to undermine his cause.

  • Wikileaks is cut off from Amazon servers, with Amazon claiming Wikileaks violated their terms of service. link
