Appreciate the link; one hell of a read.
Two significant stand out thoughts:
One hell of a statue.
In my years, I've known women welders; Sis maybe made some bolts that ended up on FRIDAY or even F9, or a Tesla.
Long story short, you have to want to.
Apparently few do, and I don't attribute it to sexual or power dynamics in the workplace or some "guys know better!" crap.
Women walk out of colleges with a better participation rate, these days, and last I checked, no one was running around grabbing pussies while stocking shelves or getting a migraine from calculus.
My hypothetical, rhetorical query is this:
Why aren't girls curious about shit under the hood, why aren't dads and boyfriends telling Princess about and to use a pipe for leverage on a stubborn lug nut from Day Zero?
They don't find that ambition and curiosity, so be it.
Me? I can sew, cook, bake, be a homemaker, make jewelry, and all sorts of things that are girly.
That said, unless you ignite that spark through necessity - whether "I'll do this, but you watch and learn" or as a father, involve your starry-eyed sprat...
You get someone with a knack who buys undies that say "juicy" - I have a daughter, it'll be the full and educational paradigm of "Here, hande that wrench."
...I could read and do the Wonderword through a little guidance.
Gals can, too. Still their choice.
Sorry about the rant.
