Fun trying to get tested for ADHD

I found getting a prescription more difficult than diagnosis.

Following my diagnosis I visited the campus health center in the University I worked in. The Doctor actually became somewhat angry or at me, stating she seen letters from the person who diagnosed me several times and was angery at the fact that he did not give a perscritpion and just recommended which medication to take and what doses ( Bare in mind that the person who diagnosed me was a leading expert in the field and a high ranking academic in our countries most prestigious University). She rants about how she sick of stimulants just being handed out wily nilly (It was strattera, not a stimulant). I'm told to return at a later date to visit the physiotherapist instead.

He starts to question me straight away, saying that he does not believe in adult ADD and is cautious to give out ADD medication to students. After a good bit of conversing and him learning that I'm not actually a student ( Which I can understand due to my age but slightly annoyed me as I had only sat on a committee with his manager days previous) he began to open up more and professed he knew the person who diagnosed me and trusted his judgment. He essentially was trying to make sure that I was not just seeking medication and that I was telling the truth.

I return to him several weeks later for a follow up and he noted the differences too (My conversation was far more fluid hah). He was happy to write another prescription and to provide a letter for my new GP (I was moving in the coming weeks) that he agrees with my diagnosis and that the medication provided improvement.

TLDR: Diagnosis was straight forward. Getting perscritpion was a nightmare, with two medical proffesions assuming I was seeking mess for study purposes.
