Fundamental questions that bother my mind.

You gotta look at the conversions of Testosterone to other compounds. Essentially, what makes it so great is all the ways it mutates and impacts the brain. It is both CNS stimulatory and depressing, depending on which parts of the brain you are in. Around the fear center of the brain, it acts as a GABA modulator, reducing the amount of “bad shit” that can escape. Well not Testosterone directly, one of its metabolites. Ironically, we are discovering that SNRIs like Venlafexine, actually increase the rate at which this conversion happen and may be why it’s so good at combating anxiety. But anyways, it binds almost selectively with the receptors that surround the part of the brain responsible for fear, while ignoring the ones that makes you sleepy. Alcohol of course, binds to all of them, sleepiness included. Besides it’s selectivity the two compounds are very close. Then on the other side of the spectrum, we see a lot of people associate the size of a muscle to its overall strength. Not true. You gain muscle mass as your body begins to store ever larger amounts of creatine phosphate. This increases your work capacity, as your body as more energy available, but not the ability for fibers to pull together in unison. That is where strength comes from. Testosterone, or again one of its many metabolites, acts in such a way as to “overclock” the electrical impulse that gets sent down the wire. If you think about people in life or death situations, all that adrenaline does the same thing. Your body is like “fuck the safety’s, burn the fucking wire, just fucking contract ever damn muscle or we’re fucked!” Same kind of deal, by sending a larger impulse, even if it’s not as coordinated, you are able to move more weight. I could break it down further, but that’s the gist of it. It stimulates the brain in all the right ways to make you stronger and less of a bitch at the same time.
