Summary – Left Dallas & visited Toronto, Niagara Falls, Reykjavik & the Golden Circle in Iceland


Whirlwind Timeline Recap

Friday

  • 5pm – Left work for Dallas Airport (DFW)

  • 7pm – Boarded direct flight to Toronto, Canada (YYZ)

  • 11pm – Picked up rental car and found a nice Bar & Grill that was open

  • 11:59pm – Went to sleep at Hotel near Airport

Saturday

  • 7am – Left for Niagara Falls

  • 8:30am – Arrived in Niagara Falls &took lots of photos

  • 10:30am – took the Hornblower Niagara cruise through the mist

  • 11:30am – ate lunch at Skylon tower, the revolving restaurant at the top of the needle overlooking the falls

  • 12:30pm – returned to Toronto

  • 2:30pm – Took a tour of Casa Loma which is a 100+ year old Gothic Revival style mansion and gardens in Toronto

  • 5pm – Had dinner in St. Lawrence market which is a 200+ years old

  • 8:30pm – Boarded direct flight to Reykjavik (KEF), Iceland. Slept on plane

Sunday

  • 6 am – Picked up rental car in Reykjavik

  • 8 am – went to the blue lagoon and relaxed for a few hours

  • 11:30am – had Icelandic hot dogs (these are kind of famous)

  • 12:00pm - proceeded to due the Golden Circle Drive. Hiked in Pingvellir National Park, Walked along Gulfoss waterfall, & watched Geysir geysers (which is the oldest recorded geyser and for which all geysers are named)

  • 6pm – toured outside Hallgrimskirkja the famous church in Reykjavik

  • 7pm – Had dinner at Kaffivagninn, oldest restaurant in Iceland

  • 9pm – went to an outdoor festival that happened to be near our hotel

Monday – Labor Day

  • 7am – Left for KEF for a flight back to DFW via a connection in YUL

  • 3pm – Landed in DFW

  • 4pm – slept
