The future of Chicago neighborhoods

Okay so i’m gonna take a bite…

I think South Shore, Back of the yards, belmont cragin, and the whole IMD/tri-taylor is next to gentrify.

I think neighborhoods that are too far from the city, lack transit, but still have a solid base of people will remain working class hoods, basically unchanged. I’m talking Hegewisch, Mt greenwood, and Jefferson Park.

Neighborhoods that are going to decline actually isn’t the city, the places that will get fucked (in my opinion) are the south/working class burbs. As the city gentrifies more and more and the COL rises, I think thats where the people getting displaced are headed. Think Harvey, Cal City, and Homewood. That’s where most of the folks from projects went when Daley tore em down. The upper middle class/rich suburbs will remain luxury (naperville, downers grove, north shore, arlington heights, etc.) but yea
