Well, in the past the p0rn industry did indeed drive the success of many new media-technology formats.
But that's because, back then, there was no viable way of mass consumption of this form of... umm... (art?)... "media".
I mean, in the past, teenagers only had the lingerie section of the Sears catalog to check out, in order to titillate their teenaged interests!
But things have now changed, a lot...
And I think it might be a mistake to assume that past pattern will just continue.
Essentially, right now, the Internet has been really saturated with a plethora of p0rn. For a large portion of the population, that's really probably more than enough already!
So I don't think p0rn will have the driving power it once did in the past, to make or break new technologies, or propel them forwards.
INSTEAD... going forward... I think it is going to be the gamers that drive new technology evolution.
