Gabon National Team Coach: Aubameyang has asked not to be selected because he is changing clubs

Don't talk rubbish. Hummels has been a fantastic leader on the pitch for many years now, his influence has been massive. What has been said in the past month has been hypocritical but it doesn't detract from the fact he has been a fantastic captain throughout the years that has given everything to Dortmund.

You're being too sentimental. Clubs like Dortmund, Atletico, Sevilla always lose players but they seem to find a way to stay competitive. They have other players who will step up and they'll find other talent to replace the players who left by scouting and spending smart. That's what makes watching these kinds of teams challenge rich teams more fun. There are over 6 billion people on the planet and new talent is coming up everywhere.

If it were that easy and you could buy such quality players on the cheap just like that, every team would be full of world class players. I'm sure Dortmund will find a good replacement but will he be able to fill Hummel's shoes? There is a very good chance he won't, or won't even come close to for a few years if Dortmund were to buy young.

World class players can be found and bought for cheap, but this is what teams outside of Premier League and 2-3 big spenders like Real and Barca have been doing for years. That's why we see teams like Atletico Madrid, Sevilla and Dortmund doing so well and entertaining. Too bad they can't keep their players, Atletico can but others can't. So they have to use their strengths to stay afloat and constantly scout and find new talent to stay competitive.

£110m isn't going to get Dortmund these ready made stars, it'll get them players like Dembelle and Weigl and occasionally you'll get a Aubameyang or Mkhitaryan but there is no guarantee when you're buying from small teams in weaker leagues.

When did you last see teams like Dortmund or Liverpool buy ready made stars like Modric, Kroos, James etc.? Ready made stars only go to a handful of clubs in the world. Some clubs make stars, some buy them. But it doesn't mean they win all the time.
