This game is already looking to be a disappointment

Just curious, what are expectations then? A linear world (With points of no returning back in the story?) with multiple choices that impact the ending? If that's the case then I'm honestly 100% cool with that.

For me at least, I played a lot of RPG's before I even got around to sniffing the Half Life series. I thought the linear story and basically no RPG options would make it boring and dull. I did not find that to be the case at all and I really enjoyed the story they laid out for me. If Obsidian hits this just right then honestly, and I mean this, this game might be looked at a new golden standard of current gaming, sort of like how Half Life was back in its day.
