A game based in midieval times in Scandinavia is now a white supremacist dog whistle.

Edit: Oh and I’m blocking you btw, don’t feel like conversing with a brick wall. Have a nice day.

This is almost a month old but this is just too good. Do you say this shit somewhere else too? Because I'd love a link so I can screenshot it and then post it here for karma. You were the perfect caricature, it almost seemed like you were actually trying to be everything this sub mocks, capping it off with that.

Now, here's a thought experiment: I actually am an aspiring writer, and medieval fantasy is my preferred playground. Which means that all of my characters are white. Would that make me an "asshole" who "only cares about skin color"? What if I told you that I'm hispanic? What if I told you that I'm white? Did each of my questions alter your opinion of me and the way I envision my characters? Then that means that your entire world view is awful.

But the experiment doesn't end there! What if the impossible happened and my books became famous enough to be adapted. What if I chose to have the final say in the casting and wanted the series/play/whatever to accurately represent my vision (to with, I'd choose an all-white cast)? Would that make me an asshole? No? But what of death of the author? But then, if we subscribe to that, why do the fans not get to care about how the characters look like? Who are you to insult them because of that?

And why the hell do you people never defend whitewashing with that towering piece of "sKiN cOlOr dOeSn'T mAtTeR fOr cHaRaCtErIzAtIoN" bullshit? How can you have this gross doublethink of complaining about "whitewashing" but defending this shit at the same time? And even if you in particular haven't whined about whitewiahing, by defending other race lifting here you're enabling those that do, making you share in their blame (according to you people and your usual guilt by association).
