So this game has been out for over a decade, how come there is no tutorial for the jungle role?

Yeah, but this neglects that without prior knowledge you not only don't know what a jungler does at all, but you don't even know what the jungle is.

You can explain the overall theory behind the jungle, why people take smite when they jungle, and the benefits of jungling without forcing people how to play. You can explain what each camp does without forcing people how to play.

"The jungle is the space between lanes, filled with monsters who can be challenging to take at first, but offer an alterative source of gold and experience to lane creeps. Players can choose to focus on the jungle as an income source, and when they do so they take the smite summoner spell and one of these two items {item1, item2} to help them kill these dangerous enemies early."

Then you go into an explanation of what each camp does, and what they are good against. Raptors kill people with bad aoe, gromp kills people with bad single target damage, what do the buffs do, what is a scuttle crab? This doesn't give pathing info, but it does reinforce that the game is designed around junglers taking smite + smite items, and it would be best if you did as well. Not to mention it encourages the players to read what smite + item does. It also give enough information to players to make informed pathing decisions. They know know enough to avoid raptors on blitzcrank jungle, or to try and kill gromp if low on hp and they don't want to back.

"Another benefit of being in the jungle is that your enemies cannot see you easily, this gives you an advantage when trying to go to a lane and kill them. This is known as ganking."

This informs the players of the other option: ganking, without forcing them to gank at specific timings.

Jungling is like riding a geared bike. It is possible that a person new to bikes is able to do it, and it is pretty easy to get the basics once you know about them, but you can at least show them how the bike works beforehand, and then let them judge what gears they should use.
