This game series should have been called "Raising the Dead".

The first one it's only referring to Clementine in which Lee is raising her since that's the largest theme of the game. He's teaching her how to survive in the world which is the very definition of raising a child so I'd say it does make sense from Lee's perspective since you know... he's raising her. The second focuses less on other characters raising Clementine which they do accomplish regardless but rather her raising herself which is still raising the "dead" but it also includes the survival of Alvin Jr. and securing his well being which is arguably rising him as well. Just because Clementine isn't being raised by an adult individual throughout the series doesn't mean the focus of the series isn't exploring the development of a child in the apocalypse, the title could be referring to the players controlling the outcome for Clementine as well, it can go a lot of ways if you think about it.

And the phrase "raising the dead" is a common motif in zombie culture so it might not have any strong holding in this particular universe it still can make sense in other ways instead of literally raising the dead (which we technically do by killing others and them turning or the choices you make decide the fate of certain characters in which they inevitably rise from the dead therefore making you the reason they rise, but that's pushing it a little). I think it's just more of a common Zombie phrase and/or plot point and using it in this title without it being too literal. If that confuses you because it's not literal enough, because all titles apparently need to be literal, then just take it as a single meaning title instead of a double meaning title I don't really care I'm just trying to have a little bit of fun here in a pretty low activity sub.
