This game has some pretty serious balance problems IMO

I felt like I made it pretty clear that in my original post I'd obviously written it from a salty point of view right after I'd finished playing the game. That probably was never really the question. Looking back, it may not have been the most fair analysis but I don't think it was totally off-base.

I won't go into the shields thing again, it's obviously working as intended.

I guess I don't understand what exactly the Scout Pistol is or what it does or how it works but that's the primary one-shot machine in the Star Card category for me. Also, I'm not a fan of running across the landscape and just getting my head blown clean off from a long range by the Pulse Rifle. In a game where most weapons shoot slow-moving projectiles, a hitscan one-shot machine doesn't quite fit. You're probably right though, now that I think about it the CA-87 is the more bullshit weapon. It's the one-shot machine and you can pretty much have constant access to it.

Disruption feels like bullshit because even though the cooldown starts immediately and I can actually get the coolant flush about 90% of the time, it's always enough time for the enemy to get the killing blow in a 1v1. It almost gives this false sense of hope that you can maybe get one or two more shots in and you're dead. It's obviously not good for taking on large groups of enemies (or maybe it is) but most of the issues concerning cheese in this game come down to these instant win 1v1 scenarios. See: Scout Pistol.

As for Walker Assault, I feel like I'm seeing about the same winrate as in the beta in which the Empire pretty consistently wins with little to no effort. I don't feel satisfied when I win as the Empire in that mode, it feels like I can do a pretty shitty job and still shut down the uplinks before they pop like 80% of the time. The Rebel team does certainly win but it comes down to a few star carry players on their team and the whole rest of the team collectively trying their asses off. I can believe it when you tell me it's been changed, but it just doesn't feel like it.

I'm just sorta doing the point-counterpoint thing here so I can get a better idea of what people think. Genuinely curious as to how people deal with some of the stuff in this game. There's obviously a good game in here, otherwise people wouldn't be playing it. I just can't see it at the moment. It comes down to I need to grind more or I need to git gud. Not sure which.
