Game Thread: Buffalo Sabres (17-17-9) at Toronto Maple Leafs (20-13-8) - 17 Jan 2017 - 07:30PM EST

I never said our defense was good, just that it is better than Buffalo's. My point before the season was that our offenses were similar on paper but our actually having some defensive depth was the difference.

I also love how you disregard every actually predictive statistic and yet use flat goals against in this context as if it means anything.

Just like Leaf fans and Avalanche fans of the past you will eventually realize that shot attempts are the most useful statistic we currently have. (debatable now with xGF% and WAR, but still) and that teams who consistently perform poorly or teams that employ players who are poor at generating possession have literally never done well in a large sample size. That's from almost 10 years worth of data now too.

With so many of your obviously super talented players performing so abysmally in their underlying numbers it is really apparent to me that Bylsma needs to be fired into the sun fucking ASAP so he doesn't turn these types of bad habits into deeply ingrained ones.
