[Game Thread] West Virginia @ Baylor (8:00PM ET)

When I was 18 yrs old, I got married and moved to a small apartment in Havana in a very dangerous neighborhood. My husband was called to military service, and so I spent most of that first year alone in the apartment. One early morning that summer was storming early, like at 6 am. I woke up to loud noises of what I thought was thunder. Then I realized the “booms” were just a second after the thunder. Then it clicked. Someone is trying to break down my front door. In Cuba front doors are made of wood. When I walked into the living room, I saw how the door was almost being ripped apart by heavy blows, only held in place by the security chain. A few more of those and they’d be inside. Without hesitation I ran to the kitchen and grabbed the biggest knife I had. I ran to the living room and yelled “Get out of my house! I’m armed! I will hurt you!”The blows stopped and I heard running. I then unhooked the security chain and proceeded to RUN AFTER TWO YOUNG MEN, IN MY NIGHTGOWN, IN THE RAIN! I went all the way to the sidewalk and lost them in the heavy storm. Not satisfied, I yelled again, “I saw you! I know who you are”. A couple of hours later, when it stopped raining, I walked the one mile to the police station and a policeman walked back home with me. He didn’t do much, there were no prints, they had been kicking the door with their feet when thunder hit to hide the noise. By now, the adrenaline was gone and my legs started to tremble a bit. He asked me, do you know them, and I said “No, I was just bluffing. Do you have any idea who they may be?” He paused and said to me, “I have an idea... but you see, they do know who you are”. I froze. I lived alone and they knew me. They could come back anytime and hurt me... But they never did. This 5’2, 100 lbs young woman scared the heck out of them.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

True story by the way :)
