In regards to Nintendo, more specifically #FreeMelee, I do want to add this;

The fallout over this hashtag within the Nintendo community has become very nasty. Smash sub-reddits openly mock and ridicule Nintendo sub-reddits for being too sympathetic towards the company, and it's resulted in a toxic back-and-forth that has done more harm to #FreeMelee's cause than good. Some Smash users even go out of their way to submit #FreeMelee content onto these Nintendo sub-reddits, which only makes the problem worse.

I hear what you're saying OP, but I fail to see how antagonizing people who defend Nintendo accomplishes anything. It's created this atmosphere where people are expected to take the community's side, and if they don't, they open themselves to public ridicule and shame.
