Garland, Texas is a hotbed for anti-Muslim bigotry

that event wAs pretty much anti ISIS

again, quotes from those supporting ms. geller and her hate crusade:

You are not Americans. Don’t fly our flag,

If they want to live their life like the Middle East, they can go back to the Middle East.

this is just an example of the sort of rhetoric espoused by supporters of these hate and fear mongerers. i'm american, born american, and a Muslim by choice. if these people passed me on the street, they'd have no idea i was Muslim. yet, if they knew, they'd tell me to go live in the middle east just because i'm Muslim? association of 'browness' and 'Arabness' with Islam is ignorant and completely ridiculous.

the idea that seems to be prominent within the culture that assumes it will somehow one day democratically impose Islamic Values on America

i have no idea what you're talking about and i'm sure that you don't have any Islamic sources that support that claim.

Muslims somehow see your religious laws as more important than other religions and someone violating your religion entitles you to a 'victim' status

victim status applies to those who are victimized by others. and guess what? Islam, at this point, is being victimized by a lot of misinformation, media bias, and downright ignorance in much of the west (and, in fact, many of those who take part in groups like daesh). you can't tell me that you really believe the only news-worthy stories of deaths around the world are those perpetrated by Muslims. you can't tell me that you really believe the only real representation of Islam and Muslims is what you see on the news.

in Islamic jurisprudence, christians, jews, and other non-Muslims are not subject to Islamic laws. they are not held accountable for the same things that Muslims are. historically, they had their own court systems separate from the shariah courts. so i have no idea what you mean by the above statement.

'Christians' crying hate and victim status

there's a difference between the curse that is used ('jesus christ') and purposefully caricaturing the Prophet pbuh in the worst possible ways in order to attempt to ruffle Muslims' feathers. if a person were to look straight into a christian's eyes and screamed 'jesus christ!' directly at them, despite calm requests to stop, then maybe the two situations are almost analogous.

No sooner should heavy metal be banned as well as atheism or satanism than should drawing Muhammad and speaking ill of Islam as an idea

draw Muhammad pbuh for all i care. speak ill of Islam. if that's what you really believe, then do so. it is your fundamental right imho. but don't try to act as if ms. geller and her constituents are the greatest examples of freedom of speech. don't act as if hate speech is somehow less hateful or detestable if it's directed at Muslims.

stop trying to be pariahs unfairly treated because not everyone 'respects' your religion

if those people protesting the peace conference in january had been protesting jews or african americans, the conversation would be much different. but since Muslims are one of the hottest scapegoats of today, it's not. i couldn't care less if someone doesn't respect my religion. but don't go out of your way to cause trouble and spew hate speech at innocent, peaceful people at a mosque or a conference or just walking around the street.
