Gary Plauché shoots and kills his sons abuser (Jeff Doucet) in an airport on March 16th 1984

If he had missed and hit someone else, like the officer standing next to him, it would have gone from vigilante justice to manslaughter. There’s a reason people shouldn’t be opening fire in public. Even Jack Ruby killing Lee Harvey Oswald: yeah the guy deserved to die, but now there’s a shitload of questions that don’t get answered, just because one guy couldn’t keep it together.

The police could have still been investigating or pressuring the abuser to give up other crimes he’s committed, maybe other people. Now we’ll never know because this poor dad decided to throw his life away to get revenge. That’s a shitty pill to swallow, but you’re the immature one if you think this didn’t fuck shit up for the dad, the cops, the judges, and everyone else who had to clean up his mess.
