Gas station with leaded racing fuel.

We don't know exactly what's going to happen to the younger generations as a result of their limited exposure, but we know that the amount the average person is exposed to is *waaaay* lower than it was before. Less lead in your systems means fewer adverse effects. It's not zero, no, but it's low enough that it isn't going to change anything about your life.

And sure, technically we can get it even lower. Why do we need to though? You can do it to please certain groups of people but all it really accomplishes is making the cost of fuel and/or maintenance higher for the vehicles that still use it. Eventually, people will make better or cheaper alternatives but that won't be quick and those that use that fuel now might not be able to or want to make the switch.

I'm also referring primarily to the US by the way. I should have stated that earlier. That article you referenced is talking about the entire world. There are definitely places where it is a problem, but anywhere in the west and even most of the east is not affected by it anymore. We can definitely work to help the places that still rely on it, though completely banning its use (in fuel, obviously there are other chemical processes that require lead to be used) here won't change anything except for making environmental activists feel good.
