As a gay guy, I feel offended by gay prides and overly feminine men and I HATE them.

The issue isn't with them, it's with people buying into stereotypes and I truly hope one day you work through whatever issues you have that makes you think that people deserve hate just for being themselves in harmless ways.

Them wearing make-up, them being flamboyant, them liking to express their gender in a more stereotypical feminine way doesn't (or shouldn't) hurt anyone. It's the assholes who take issue with that harmless self-expression that hurt people.

It's bizarre that you blame gay people who fit the stereotype for your family hating gay people, rather than hating your family and friends for being bigots. You should take issue with the bigots instead of joining them in their bigotry. Instead of directing your hate at femme gays, why not defend them and yourself? Tell your family and friends that they're wrong to buy into stereotypes. Tell them that not every gay person is the same. Tell them that a man who likes to rock some red lipstick and a killer pair of heels should not negatively impact their lives in any way because he's not hurting anyone by being himself.

For what it's worth, I do get it. There are stereotypes about my sexuality and those stereotypes hurt me and others in very real ways, and I have bigoted people in my life who believe those stereotypes. I just think your anger is misdirected.

I agree with you, to an extent, about the overly sexual behaviour at some prides (never seen it happen at any in my country) but that's more about public indecency than anything else and they're definitely a minority of gay people. You should look into the history of Pride. Why it started, why it's important and maybe then you'll understand a bit more why it's such a loud and over-the-top, in-your-face kind of celebration.
