SQ: Are those Sanders Holborn chukkas too clunky for slim jeans? Pictures: 1, 2, 3 Last is wider than normal, quarters look massive and toe box is soft-square.

Wanted Loake 1880 Kemptons, but last doesn't fit. Kemptons looked sleeker in real life than pictures suggested. Unfortunately can't get the Sanders without expensive return rates. Loake 1880 Pimlicio and Meermin Chukkas on Hiro look too dressy. For more money one could get (C&J CHiltern)[http://www.crockettandjones.com/product/chiltern-snuff], but looks as clunky as Sanders Holborn.

Fallback options would be [Shoepassion No. 608](www.shoepassion.com/kollektion-boots/no-608.html), but they used some very thin thread for the welt stitching, which looked like there was no thread at all and the salesperson called that normal due to being handmade - like they use no sewing machine and have no quality standards. Maybe could sidestep those hopefully only QC issues with ordering a massive amount online and utilizing their free returns. Anyway, not the biggest fan of that color, the non-contrasting sole which almost has the same color as the upper in real life and the sleek quarters. Leaving goodyear-welted, Massimo Dutti[http://www.massimodutti.com/us/en/men/shoes/special-sizes/suede-ankle-boots-c1313041p6200080.html] has some chukkas, too. No idea about quality, but cheap suede still looks good and at least that style appears better. Tho could do without that that more bulbous toebox and that leather tongue. Anyway need to handle in real life first.
