Gear Recommendation (What Should I Buy?) Thread - February 04, 2019

I'm looking to downgrade my interface. About 10 years ago I bought a Lynx Aurora 8 which I loved. Unfortunately, more and more it's been causing problems for me. Input showing up in the Lynx but not in ProTools / Ableton. Updates that timeout constantly. Strange behavior with sample rates.

At the time, I was a professional engineer but I've since gotten out of the game and mostly do demos for fun. I understand that I can get one of the Scarletts or a cute Presonus box, but I have a lot of other audio equipment, specifically a lunchbox full of great preamps and a D-Box for monitoring, that I would like to keep using. Do these "all in one" solutions play nice with outboard gear? Am I going to notice a significant quality drop?

Alternatively, anyone have any good tips for troubleshooting Aurora input issues that aren't listed in the manual?
