[GEAR][...I suppose?] Is there any type of product I can by that’s essentially an overlay for the fret board that displays different scales?I feel like a simply visual aid directly on the guitar would very much accelerate the process of learning certain aspects of theory.

This type of comment is ridiculously boring. I want to accelerate learning scales so I can noodle around in my bedroom. I never intend on being a professional, or even performing, musician. Obviously if you want to be something like a proper classical guitarist you’re going to be investing years of time & effort into dedicated studies with teachers, feedback-giving peers, and highly in depth theory beyond merely “here’s what key you’re in”.

I want to play along with fucking YouTube backing tracks titled in such ways as “Surf Rock in A Minor”, along with various songs I like on Spotify, and fuck around with a loop pedal. For those things I’m in fact already prepared, and have been for many years. But I would like, for certain scales I’m unfamiliar with, a simple visual indicator so as to avoid having to rummage around on the internet for poorly developed tutorial videos, or even worse text articles, or the worst scenario of all - uselessly pretentious forum comments like what you’ve just offered.
