Gearing Needs to Change

I partially understand your point, but I think its sort of making an assumption about what aspects of the game people ejoy or should enjoy. I like to raid with my long term friends, and I like to be a helpful member of that team.

Here in Dragonflight, I have quickly fallen about 10 item levels behind my raid team because I have had no luck with my rolls with them, nor have I gotten loot on my own. My great vault has been entirely unusable 2 weeks in a row, and I just finished my 20th mythic+ in a row with only a single drop to show for it, in a slot I had already.

Sure, when my raid team flies ahead they can pity toss me gear, and my luck is bound to change eventually. It just feels really discouraging, and powering up my character has long been one of my favorite parts of RPGs, and I assume other people's, since it is a staple of the genre.

Anyway, I just wanted to vent a bit about that. I think pity/bad luck protection is a solution to a pretty multi-layered problem that isn't just everybody wanting a trophy and not enjoying the game for what it is.
