GeForce RTX 4090 Reportedly Peaks at 493W to Hit 3.1 GHz

Honestly I can see both sides of the argument. When you consider the hours of entertainment value these cards will give you compared to say how much your typical 20-something with a decent job will throw down on a Friday night in a bar buying shots for people these video cards are maybe a month's worth of partying at your local bar.

Somebody who really doesn't have the money to afford these cards can always get themselves a 6800 XT or a 3080 and have perfectly capable 4K gaming for a fraction of the price. It's not like they're not giving you choice here.

And if you can't even afford that you can always get yourself a 6600xt and have perfectly capable 1440p gaming or buy yourself a console. Bottom line flagship video cards with these levels of power are designed for the high-end market.

People have proven theyre willing to pay just like smartphones and that's all it takes for these corporations to adapt to the changing marketplace.

It's no different than buying a $2,000 pool stick or a $5,000 road bike or a $3,000 kayak or an expensive set of golf clubs if you happen to be into those hobbies.

The prices are unreasonable, and yet they're reasonable, depending on how you look at it. There's plenty of choice available. Something that they could do with these price points is give a rock solid warranty with better warranty service then you typically get from a lot of these companies, and maybe with a longer warranty. I'd be pissed if my 4090 crapped out on me after 3 years.
