General Chatter/Meetup Thread - Week of March 18

Warning: Not your typical /r/solotravel post
.
I (36M) recently had my heart broken by a girl (33F) who is starting a solo, year-long road trip across the U.S. in her old Subaru WRX with her chocolate lab in the backseat. At the time we met, the roadtrip was only supposed to last about 6 weeks after which point she would come home where I had high hopes we could continue cultivating our relationship. That didn't happen. After flying down to visit her she decided to break things off with me, get back together with her ex, and extend her roadtrip to a full year. I've been struggling with that rejection for awhile now, and I'm tired of feeling angry and hurt, so I'm going to try something that seems a little counter-intuitive to help me finally let go: I'm going to show her kindness.
.
This is difficult to do since I've broken off contact with her (Okay, except for that email I sent her the other night in a moment of weakness to do some finger-pointing. But we've all been there, right? Right??). However, she is documenting her travels on her Instagram account and I know she'd like to get more followers. She has been through some shit in her life and while I don't know how much of that she'll share, her posts tend to be uplifting and inspirational. She's just getting started so please consider following her if this is something that piques your interest.
