This is exactly how I feel, too. And the worst part (for me) has been that I've been in a FB-chat debate for HOURS now with a bunch of my closest friends from grad school, half of whom are trying to convince the other half that this isn't so bad and we shouldn't be scared. It's 3 white men and 1 mixed race (white/Hispanic) woman trying to convince 4 women of color that they are overreacting and "talking down to republicans" and "that's why this happened" and "the liberal media over-construed all of trump's statements" and "Hillary wasn't trustworthy" and "sanders would have won" and "it's incredibly rude and offensive of liberals to insinuate that just because we didn't vote for Hillary we supported racism/xenophobia/homophobia."

These people are highly educated, in their 20s, and making over 6 figures a year. I want to die inside. 2/4 of them have said multiple times they would have voted for Sanders if he had gotten the nom (one wrote him in, the other either didn't vote or voted trump).
