Baseball def needs to figure out how to stay in the conversation in the offseason, like basketball does. I think you move the opening of FA signings to a specific date after the World Series ends, same with coach/GM signings (no need for any of that to go on during playoffs), have an awards show on a specific date, do the HOF announcement one week and then a month or so later announce the inductees. Put the draft somehow in the offseason. Space all this junk out every week or so until mid January then let things sit until Pitchers and Catchers report. Enact a tax for FA signings after a certain date to further push signings to take place in a specific window and not have them drag on into the start of the season.
