A general question to New Zealanders

Fuck yes, my grandparents were racist af. My parents not actively, but passively so.

I'm definitely more racist than I'm comfortable admitting but try and change my thoughts because I really don't want my kids to be racist whatsoever.

I'd consider myself to have failed as a parent if my child grew up racist. Change and acceptance like that starts at home and was only my parents actively shielding us from our grandparents racism and explaining why it's not ok is where it starts eh.

If I saw a lady or man with a moko I'd happily stop and ask if my children could see it and ask if they can tell them why they have one. (But probably not as creepy or forward as this sounds typed out...)
