GeneSight testing

I'll try to come back later when I have more time to answer this more thoroughly, but 23andme results can be very misleading. It's not that the results are wrong, but they are not complete, as their advertising would lead you to believe. An example here https://bcaction.org/2018/03/07/fda-approved-breast-cancer-dna-test-by-23andme-may-do-more-harm-than-good/

when it comes to BRACA testing, they only look for 3 out of more than 1000 variants of the gene, and the 3 they look at are mostly present in people with Ashkenazi ancestry (which is a very small subset of our population). So, yeah, a positive BRACA result would be very useful, but a negative result doesn't mean anything. If a woman had strong family history of cancer and went to 23andMe instead of her PCP or genetic counselor, she could very well get negative results and have a false sense of security.
