okay i felt like my post was polite but since we are getting feisty, a quick google search for words like “stupid” and “idiot” will tell you that it’s history did not equate it with intellectual disabilities. one can be “stunned” and “ignorant” without being intellectually disabled. our society turns those words into vulgar adjectives as that people then use to describe people who are intellectually disabled. flawed and wrong, but drastically different from the word “dumb” that has always meant mute, and people now use to describe something deemed intellectually flawed. One can be idiotic and not be disabled. And I never said that this fight made them seem intellectually disabled. You chose to assign that meaning :) Anyways you’ve totally lost the point of this entire post.
as someone who is hard of hearing and grew up with a non verbal + hearing impaired community, i ask you guys to take a hot min and ask yourself “do i feel like being harmful today?” or am I open to hearing another perspective (:
