Genuinely concerned about safety: the XSport on Lakeview (on School/Ashland) has been doing active construction for the past few months, while patrons have continued to come and go 24/7

So for the past two years, the XSport on Lakeview has had signs up promising massive expansions/renovations, including a swimming pool and a bunch of other crap that no one asked for. This is the Lakeview location's YELP. The pictures on the Yelp page do not reflect the actual, present conditions of this gym.

Over the past few months, starting sometime around October, they have been doing major construction inside the gym. They started working on the men's room: this included painting, laying/cutting new tile, having contractors in and out of the locker room, doing major construction in the shower areas, installing a sauna, etc.

After completing their work in the men's room, they actually changed the men's room to the women's room. That in itself was a huge problem.

For a week, men were walking into the new women's room. Because why wouldn't you? Despite having a few temporary signs, that situation was also unclear.

Now that they have that sorted out, they are doing work on the old women's room that is now the current men's room. And that has included all sorts of nonsense like ripping out/installing drywall, replacing the showers, etc.

As an avid gym rat (~work out 5 to 6 days a week) I have been absolutely DUMBFOUNDED that this has been going on while the gym has been fully operational. It is a 24/7 gym, after all.

I'm all for renovations and improvements...but even that seems skeptical. I saw the work they did on the sauna in the new lady's room. It seems like a nightmare. And the new lockers they have installed are already falling apart. The tile work is atrocious: literally glued tile to drywall. I'm not a construction expert, and even if I was that isn't my beef.

My concern here is truly one of safety. I mean, WTF? Close the gym for a month, make everyone go to another location, and get the work done.

And if you wonder why I continue to go...half of it is laziness (I'll own it), the other half is morbid curiosity at what construction shit show I will see that day.
