Geographic variations in salary

I think the problem is mostly just using 'EU wide' at all when discussing European economies, and then pointing out just Switzerland as the outlier. This post sort of insinuates that the disposable income in Europe being significantly lower, possibly less than half, of the US as some sort of tradeoff for healthcare or social safety nets.

This is of course not the case. Western Europe in general is very wealthy compared to the rest of the EU, and the majority (not just Switzerland) has plenty of disposable income. If you look at a list like this (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Median_income) the majority of Western Europe is comparatively close to or above the US. It is kind of pointless to do a median income of Denmark and Italy when the point is that few people in Spain might afford an iPhone while a person in Denmark can literally buy one on unemployment benefits alone.

Thae the median income of the EU is 19000 also sounds ridiculously low, what is your source on that?
