George Floyd Megathread

White people are the target of more indisputable racism than black people.

I’ve been meditating on all the events going on, and not to pat my own back, but I’m certain I’ve never committed an act of hate based on someone’s skin color. That said, I’ve counted 11 times I’ve been attacked or treated with hateful intent because of my own skin color (white). Just a couple examples: A girl spit in my face for being white. I overheard “white people dirty” (elderly lady didn’t say thank you when they held the door for her). I “couldn’t” do anything about either. Yeah, we eventually got to the #alllivesmatter movement in 2016, but truly....the double standard is unbelievable. The path forward isn’t solely “white people, fix yourselves.” I cannot imagine the roles being reversed in the 2 examples I shared...and it’s jacked up that I’d be considered racist for complaining about a black person’s behavior....and so, I share my feelings here in anonymity knowing this is more of a popular opinion....unpopular in that nobody can say these things without retaliation.
