George Takei Accused of Sexually Assaulting Former Model in 1981

People can be drunk and moving around and talking and have no recollection of being conscious. The insinuation he got drugged seems tenuous at best. He drove home. Not something usually possible after getting drugged.

I just don't know where this ends. I have gotten handsy when with a woman where we were both very drunk. Everything was OK,, and then it was not, and she wanted me to go away and so I did. We were fine the next day. But she expressed her desire for me to stop after reciprocal touching in a sexual manner had taken place. Is that sexual assault? At this point, I guess so. Good thing I'm not famous.

All I can say is I am glad I am married and don't have to worry about this shit. There's no benefit of the doubt or gray area anymore between grown-ups.

There is this weird sort of sexist assumption that women are incapable of handling a questionable situation in the moment. Today, a person taking the risk of intimacy is by default taking a risk of criminality should the other party so decide.

I fear we've entered into an era sexual McCarthyism where decent people (or people who are a little freaky).are going to get lumped in with actual predators.
