Gerard Batten quits as Ukip leader after losing every Ukip MEP seat, including his own

The total collapse of UKIP isn’t good news for remainers. Looks like the Green/Lib/Lab/Plaid/SNP side will be the remainer voting block with only Con/BXP on the other. Less of a vote split going on with the leavers. From BXP’s point of view UKIP still have two uses that I can see. One to act a bit like a toxic bank for dumping bad assets into and draw the loonies into UKIP and thereby keeping them away from BXP as these people can easily ruin a party. And two opening the Overton window getting national conversations started that otherwise wouldn’t be started and making anything BXP say sound moderate by comparison. Yep UKIP still have a big role to play.
