Germany struggles with surge in arson attacks against refugees

Downvoted for what ? All the ignorant citizens who complain all day about the immigrants coming here to germany to take "their" money away. It is disgusting how these people think about other human beings as things who consume their welfare system with the assumption that they won't contribute to the society on purpose.

Like all the immigrants want to come here to just relax and chill out while they had to suffer things we can't even grasp. The real problem is we expect only immigrants who the graduation to work in Germany. Even some who take this as their arguments dont have such graduation but that is another think to discuss in another discussion.

What about the others who are illiterate, ill or mentally disabled ? So we seperate those from the ones who are able and those who are obviously not able to work should stay or what ?

The problem is the people who think that way, never actually had such experiences in our society where war and massacres aren't in their daily thoughts. That is why they cannot decide who has the permission to come.

I just ask myself from time to time if these people, apparently not capabable of empathy, here in Germany even think of them as human beings or not.

We should be a rolemodel and accept everyone and educate them without their background history. Although that sounds utopic, it is still feasible. I know that many argue that all the money we possibly could spend on immigrants to teach them could be used for the german citizens because we are far away from a perfect school system etc.

I still think that we are by far one of the best countries in the world without that much problems economically, financially and as a whole society. The main problem is that it seems for me that small percentage of people, who are sadly not the whole representation of Germany, are reluctant to things they feel uncomfortable with. Immigrants are unknown to these people so they are automatically against them.

At the end I want to say that I support controlled immigration of workforce but it is just unjustifiable to seperate from those who aren't able to do something. It is the thinking of "people are different only because we live in different countries" that makes me sick. We get used to how good we have it in Europe and try to block everything that is unknown instead of realising it and trying to spread our fortune to the regions who suffer the most. It's kind of like feeling reluctant to help e.g. Spain, Portugal and Greece only because of the fear that we won't see "our" money again. Because let them drown in debts and pretend that this szenario won't affect us which will ofc.

My parents went from Bulgaria in 1994, shortly after the breakup of the UdSSR, to Germany. My mother trained as a kindergartener and my father with no graduation at all. Now after 21 years I am going to study Computer Science here with, hopefully in the future, being able to speak 3-4 languages.

Now one may say that is the exception to the rule (without to sound like boaster). The real thing is that they had no help at all when they came here and had to learn german on their own and had to work under shitty circumstances in unprofitable jobs. At the end we should encourage ALL immigrants who seek Germany as a refugee to train themselves on everything they want. Because at the end their roots are not in Germany but somewhere else. These skills they aquire here cant be later used to sthrengthen the german economy or going back to their country they came from to help them there to become better people and to hopefully stop the war.

At the end it's the education that all unites us. How can someone expect that times change in a country where education is nonexistent and the unemployed youth are dragged into a vicious circle of hatred and violence.

And to come your very true discovery of not having a problem with fortune seekers: Most of the people don't really have a problem with fortune seekers as long as they obey law. It is just easier to mark them as "bloody immigrants" sucking out the welfare.

The whole problem is not easy to solve but people make it easy by using the "friend-enemy-picture". I know that my comment won't fix the problem but atleast I hope that it changes the mind of some.
