Getting to know Canada’s top 1% 2018 / Mieux connaître les déclarants du palier supérieur de 1 % du Canada 2018

Totally. 4 years ago I made 58k out of university and it was the most money I had ever had. I was stoked. Just looked at my year to date today and am at 91k for the year and I seriously got a bit depressed about it. My perspective right now is "bleaker" than usual because I want to buy a place and feel that it's an uphill battle to save 150k for a downpayment and with rising costs etc. That's the thing with living in the GVA. I am from Toronto originally and although it is nearly as expensive I never *felt* it like I do here because *everybody* over there is in the rat race, trying to make something of themselves whereas wealth is flaunted here and there is a huge visible wage disparity. I brought it up to my partner and he gave me a reality check that we are in fact doing quite well and I need to adjust my perspective, which is absolutely correct. Keep your chin up, everybody :)
