Getting lots of phone screens, but they aren't going anywhere. What am I doing wrong?

I’ve been working as a UI product designer for over 9 years now, I have been with two startups that got acquired by bigger companies. My latest adventure has been to co-founded my own startup. Unfortunately, it didn’t scale and we had to shut it. All this experience still doesn’t guarantee a job offer. But what does help me when interviewing is do your homework and understand the business model of the companies that you’re applying to. Check where they’re in terms of business moves. Your conversation will be much more meaningful during interview or screening calls. Remember, the people that are hiring designers wants to see that you know how to use design to achieve the business goals. Good luck and keep at it. You’ll get that job, you don’t need many offers, just one. :)
