Getting a productive high - Recall your sessions and tell us your opinion

*Frequency: Mostly daily. I skip a day or two every now and then. *Method: I try to switch it up between volcano vape, bong, joints, blunts, portable dab vape, and small pipes. Most frequently use bong and volcano though and occasionally bake some brownies. *Quantity: On weekdays I average about .25-.5g/night since I only smoke in the evenings before bed. Depending on what I'm doing on weekends I could easily ingest 1-7g in a day. I average about 1oz/month unless I'm trying to reduce tolerance.
*Activities: My use is almost purely recreational. Most of the time I prefer to just smoke and listen to music after work to unwind, I rarely watch TV. Sometimes I read but I find myself reading much slower because I'm constantly daydreaming alternate scenarios in my head. At minimum, I smoke just before going to bed because I love the deep sleep I get on it and I have problems sleeping without it. Often times I also smoke before working out. Oh and sometimes I just plug in my guitars and wail for a bit, nothing coherent, mostly noise but it's like the guitar does the screaming for me that I can't vocalize. I also smoke a lot with a few friends, but that is mostly limited to weekends since I work a regular 9-5 M-F job and most of my friends are still in school. We usually just hang out at someone's house and talk and then go get beers or occasionally do other psychedelics. Most of my friends are part of a close-knit fraternity and sorority group so there's always something going on. It's either someone's birthday every weekend or some other random reason to party.

Music: Mostly rock and it's different subgenres. From chill blues rock to thrash metal to progressive indie rock, pretty much anything with a guitar in it. My go to when I'm high though is classic 60's and 70's psychedelic/blues rock. Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Black Sabbath, etc. I LOVE Jimi Hendrix like no other.

To be honest, the effect weed has on my listening abilities with music is probably my favorite thing about weed. Nothing beats rolling a fat one and slowly puffing your way through it while listening to a favorite album on blast.

Weed is not something I use when I want to get things done, it's too easy for me to get distracted and I'd rather sit somewhere and space out and think of all the awesome possibilities rather than get things done. However, it has indirectly contributed to my daily productivity at work. For one, I've had some really good "highdeas" while relaxing that I've actually gone through with at work. I'm a database administrator and sometimes develop applications on top of that and there have been more than a few times where a problem that didn't make sense at work suddenly made sense when I was at home just relaxing. The trick is to write it down and remember it.

Additionally, I think the improvement in quality of sleep and overall wellbeing is the greatest contribution to my productivity. I never smoke before work. I work at a public school in a state where it is very illegal and two of my coworkers, including my supervisor, are former cops so they would instantly know. Aside from that, I simply have no desire to smoke at work, I prefer caffeine or adderall.

I've worked full-time here for 5 years now and have been a regular smoker the entire time all the while being an exemplary employee and making tremendous progress as an individual and a team member. Defying the typical lazy stoner stereotype is an accomplishment that I'm quite proud of and one of the reasons I was able to convince my really strict, conservative, christian parents that weed is not the devil's lettuce. As a matter of fact, my dad is now a semi-regular toker and has become quite fond of it. My mom doesn't like using it, but has tried it and does not have too much of a problem with it now. This is important since I still live at home.

As far as recalling experiences where I didn't have a productive high, I think it would be easier to recall when I did have a productive high because it never feels productive to me except for one time. That one time is the only time I got my hands on white widow and I was still in school at the time. I smoked right before my pre-calculus class and for some reason I was just in the zone that day. Everything the teacher was talking about just made sense, I had this clear but relaxed focus and it was amazing.

I hope the wall of text isn't too hard to read and someone can make some use of my experience.
