Getting pulled over

I can tell this post was about ACAB… so here goes my take

As a firm believer in ACAB… as in I have it tattooed on my body… I have taken more nuanced approach as I get older. I hold that ACAB is an instance of an institution. Policing. I believe firmly in community oriented justice and community protection, with members of the community that are trusted, not outsiders or people who don’t have a stake in said community. Now it gets tricky here and the lines begin to blur… yes he was in a uniform, but he in a sense he wasn’t “policing” - he was doing the community a service, ensuring people don’t drive too fast and put others in danger.

What would make this easier would be to know if this is out of the blue or if this guy was speeding beforehand and by how much.

I say that only because, if he was going close to 7-10 over in a 25… that’s hella dangerous and there does need to be consequences for this sort of thing. I don’t know where to go from here but all that’s to say is you can hate cops and recognize that we still need something like this… other wise just saying ACAB won’t get people to under stand why we hate them in the first place.

TL;DR: Obviously this requires a lot more dialogue here …but suffice it to say… he was being chill AND we still need accountability in the form of community. I still hate cops, but more specifically the institution of policing.
